The Downside Of Babies And RV’s
At 4 am this morning, Luke (he’s 6 yrs old) woke up needing to go to the bathroom. Of course, being Luke, it wasn’t a quiet thing. He turned on a million lights, made a ton of noise, knocked over a basket of toys, crawled back in his bed and was sound asleep in under 30 seconds.
Now for the rest of us that were not already awake at 4 am, we were not so lucky.
Scarlett decided she might as well get up for the whole day. I nixed that plan.
So instead she sat up in her crib watching “Beauty and the Beast” on the DVD player and drinking some milk.
So far, this is probably the biggest downside of RV’ing with small children. There is no where to hide from them! They know if you’re up, they hear every noise, they lean over the top of their crib to see if they can find you.
Exhibit A:
But when you see such a cute face, it’s hard to avoid.
She has also become obsessed with standing on the couch and checking out whatever she can find on the kitchen counters. The coffee pot, dishes in the sink, random items left out. It will make a person crazy!
Here she has gathered up some small toys to drop into the sink of dirty dishes. She also brought along a cup of milk and a graham cracker.
After we put the vinyl floors in the motorhome, there were two spots that had a hole remaining. It was where the table legs originally were meant to go. We still haven’t filled them in yet. (Oops)
Well, Scarlett decided this little hole in the floor was the perfect place to stash basically anything she finds.
She gathers items up and drops them in the hole. Then Luke puts his little finger flashlights on, shines them down, and pulls everything back out.
Overall though, when I really think about it, there isn’t really all that much trouble that a toddler finds in a motorhome, that they wouldn’t find anywhere else. Toddlers will be toddlers. :)
Keeps you busy, huh?
I have an active 1 year old in a camper. At least in the camper, little that they do goes unnoticed! Ours is currently obsessed with the toilet and I can NOT wait to get past that stage.
Ugh, I can imagine! I’m just thankful that Scarlett hasn’t figured out how to open the bathroom door or we’d have the same problem!
Oh how I know! Do I see snow out the window?
Haha, I can’t even begin to imagine life in your RV! At least you have some older ones to help monitor the little ones.
Nope, no snow right now! Just a reflection. We have had a lot of icy days though here in Arkansas. Are you still in Iowa?
Still in IA. We are packing up this next week and going south Feb 11 or so.
Yay! You should swing through Arkansas…
