Junior Ranger Hot Springs National Park
Today we went downtown so Luke could complete his Junior Ranger badge. He has been wanting to do this FOREVER and we just haven’t stopped to finish. So today was the day!
All National Parks have a Junior Ranger program. You do a bunch of activities, answer questions, and get a badge for that park.
First stop was the round fountain at the corner of Bathhouse Row. This is my favorite one! It looks like a huge bubbling cauldron filled with blue-green algae.
According to Luke’s Junior Ranger book, the water is perfectly safe to drink, but I don’t know that I would want to out of this fountain! Appetizing, isn’t it?
After a few more fountains, we walked up to the Grand Promenade, a beautiful brick path above Central Ave.
Luke sat on one of the benches and worked on his activity book.
Once he finished everything up, we went back to the main building so he could be “sworn in”.
Luke was totally thrilled by all of this. He had an audience of people watching his ceremony and everyone clapped for him. He loved every minute!

I am so proud of my junior ranger! I can see the pride and excitement just about popping out of him. I am glad y’all helped him accomplish this achievement. He is a smart boy!
Wow….way to go Luke. Very proud of you. And that is a nice looking badge. I bet your dad wishes he had one.
Luke, we are so proud of you! Love your badge! We love you!
